Acrylic Sealer || Wax Sealer || Epoxy Sealer

These products act as clear sealers that are applied to porous

surfaces such as brick, sandstone and wood. The sealer does

not colour the surface but may make it look slightly darker

due to the smooth surface provided by the sealer.

Metro Stations, prime targets for Graffiti

Aqualine recommend two coatings as this ensures that any

missed areas are coated. Applied by brush, roller or spray.

The Acrylic and Wax Sealers are sacrificial coatings in that

removal of the graffiti also removes the coatings and once

clean the area treated has to be recoated to re-instate

the protection. As both sealers are quick drying water

based products this is a simple, fast operation.

1. Acrylic Graffiti Sealer

Designed to give a good seal with a medium to low gloss finish. Graffiti is removed using one or the other of the two graffiti removers ( GP PLUS or Polycarbonate Cleaner).

Water based so non-hazardous.

2. Wax Graffiti Sealer

Ideal for use by Councils who have hot water/steampressure lances. The sealer provides a low gloss finish.

Graffiti is removed by melting off the wax and so removing the graffiti. The area treated should be recoated to re-instate the protection in the cleared area.

Water based so non hazardous. Its low viscosity enables it to be applied by low pressure pump up sprays such as those used for applying weed killers.

The most environmentally friendly method of graffiti control, as it uses no chemicals.

Subways and underpasses

3. Epoxy Graffiti Sealers.

Used where a permanent seal is required which can be cleaned repeatedly without affecting the seal. Being epoxy based the sealer will matt down in direct sunlight and also may yellow slightly.

It is water based and hence only classed as Irritant. This is a two pack product (Similar to say "Araldite" glue) which has to be mixed together before use and once mixed must be used before it hardens up. Its pot life is around 1 to 1.5 hours once mixed.

This product is supplied in a 4 litre composite unit preweighted out. The user only has to pour part A into part B and stir well to mix the two together (stirring blade on the end of a hand drill is recommended).

It is of particular use for the protection of Subways and underpasses that tend to get high levels of repeated graffiti hits.

The graffiti is simply removed with a graffiti remover such as our Polycarbonate cleaner. Test have shown that graffiti can be removed from the same area in excess of 25 times without affecting the sealer.

Although this product is more expensive than the wax or acrylic it can work out very economical for Subways where graffiti keeps on coming back time after time.
